dirt candy

last night i had the pleasure of going to dinner at a delicious vegetarian restaurant in the east village with my friends melissa & amanda.
it took us nearly 3 weeks to get a reservation because this place is tiny (only 9 tables), but it was well worth the wait.

here are a few of the highlights....

                                                
steamed barbecue carrot buns, cucumber & sesame ginger salad:

 king oyster mushrooms, celery, pesto, & grilled grapes:

zucchini, mint & tarragon pasta, squash blossom relish, yogurt & saffron sauce:

red pepper velvet cake, white chocolate and peanut ice cream, & peanut brittle:

....who knew a carnivore could enjoy vegetarian food SO much?
